Through the 70's the strawbs style evolved quite a bit and this

album might be best described as prog rock. They do maintain

a heavy acid folk edge especially on the title track which is the highlight

of the album.the album is very much a movement kinda concept album

type feel and it certainly took me a while to get into it its quite a

departure from say whichwoods which will often be the

gateway album to many strawbs fans.

Some of the synth work on the album is quite magical and

certainly after having seen the band play the whole album

straight through that was part of their recent electric tour

I would now say its one of my favourite albums.

If it doesn't grab you straight away bare with it and I promise you

you will love it what may strick you as//a somewhat cheezy 70's offering if given

a chance will absolutely enrapture you as I'm sure//with real Strawbs fans it will straight away!

Enjoy!

Small town, East Coast America, my early twenties, my tastes, my angst-ridden, sexual frustration,
unrequited romances, yet such a fucking snob! guess it got me through in any case! It still sounds great.

Great album. Back in '76, my best friend's older brother had good '2nd tier' prog LPs like
Gentle Giant's Power & The Glory, Nektar's Recycled, and this one. At first we all laughed at how
much sounded like Genesis/Gabriel, but it's a classic no doubt, the title track in particular.
Wondeful music...one of the best english bands ever...amazing songwriting and a perfect instrumentation
makes listening to a fully delight and gives a sight inside the musicians mind...some of the best british
musicians wee gathered in this band and created masterworks en masse !!!

Nice comment man! we have all been there lol. I remember hearing this for the first time
walking through Oxford UK when I was 21 it made a very lasting impression on me.
In recent years the band has played it in full during their electric gigs and
